Sky Sports: “Pit Lane” - 40s

As the 2019 Formula One season careers into view, Sky Sports shift into reverse (so to speak) with this promo that condenses nearly seventy years of motorsport history into 40". Kicking off with a mechanic rolling a Dunlop tyre to a Ferrari forerunner, the ad subtly transitions into the respective eras of James Hunt, Damon Hill, and Sebastian Vettel.

Said transitions are executed through some neat visual jiggery-pokery, as film grain is replaced by HD clarity and pundits shift from the commentary box to the track. While this time tunnel approach is nothing new, there's a lot to be said for giving past glories a fresh lick of paint every now and then.
