One (tonne) for the road.

by Andrew MacGregor

Skoda: “Doug the Dog” - 67s

We never thought we'd hear an Old English Sheepdog described as a "one-tonne projectile", but that's one of the key takeaways from this French ad for Skoda. Keen to underline the importance of pet safety whilst on the road, the marque humorously imagine the difficulties associated with owning a dog the size of a camper van.

From crushing sofas to dousing its owner after a walk in the rain, it's pesky yet ultimately harmless stuff… until supers inform viewers that a regular-sized pooch without a seatbelt can turn into a furry missile.

In order to combat this malady, the brand have introduced a harness especially for dogs. The preceding canine antics make the reveal all the more disarming, as dog lovers are encouraged to save their four-legged friends from themselves.
