Walking in an autumn wonderland.

by Andrew MacGregor

Pandora: “Autumn” - 60s

Pandora's advertising over the years has tended to lull DAVID into a coma, so this elaborate 60" commercial from agency Vice and director Tom Craig comes as a surprise. Trading schmaltz for spectacle, the high street jewellers transport a woman to an autumnal realm where trinkets are handed out like ostentatious sweeties.

There's no getting around the fact that the advertised jewellery looks beyond naff (we mean you, hedgehog with a heart-shaped belly button). However, it's clear that effort has gone into the ad's look and feel, and this may prove decisive in shifting some of the brand's wares this autumn. Yes, even that ruddy hedgehog.
