The sands of time.

by Andrew MacGregor

P & O Cruises: “Souvenirs” - 90s

Following his Nordic adventure earlier this year, Rob Brydon enjoys more temperate climes in this attractively shot film for P & O. Scored by The Cranberries' ‘Dreams', the ad dispenses with Brydon's gregarious traveller shtick for a more lucid, inviting portrayal of holidays abroad.

This is thanks in large part to director Joanna Bailey's blend of tranquil and bustling scenes, as well some expansive cinematography courtesy of Martin Hill. The overall effect as Brydon and his partner explore the world is one of understated wanderlust.

While Brydon's attempt to barter with a stallholder disrupts the flow somewhat, the rest of the ad delivers enough engaging locations and encounters to suggest a cruise holiday is the stuff memories are made of.
