American department chain Nordstrom sets out its stall in this bold new ad campaign. Directed by Martin de Thurah, the two-minute launch film explores just some of the ways we are connected - the bonds both physical and societal which extend deeper than the things which divide us.
After finding themselves under fire last year for dumping Ivanka Trump's poorly performing fashion line, the brand double down by presenting an ideal America which is the opposite of the Cheeto-in-Chief's vision of utopia: diverse, sensitive, and creative.
Accompanied by a classical soundtrack and enough esoteric gestures to satisfy an acting coach, it makes for a thought-provoking look at the America beyond the headlines and suggests that, despite everything, individuals can still be the change they want to see in the world.
