Big Day Burgers

by Syd Briscoe

McDonald's: “Wedding Day” - 60s

McDonald's cement their reputation as a social leveller in this charming commercial, which sees a wedding party steadily assemble at the advertised fast food joint before heading on to the venue. As ‘Chapel of Love' plays in the background, the dapper cast fuel up and make last minute tweaks before the main event.

Across sixty personable seconds, director Bob Harlow skilfully pitches Maccy D's as a community hub - a space which welcomes children, anxious best men, and passing office workers alike. With an upbeat vibe and some subtle laughs along the way, it seems the outlook for this union is very sunny indeed.
