All at sea.

by Andrew MacGregor

MSC Cruises: “A World of Discovery” - 60s

Some brands may prefer the go loud or go home approach, but not MSC. Instead, the cruise operator tap director Stuart Douglas and Dollars Trilogy composer Ennio Morricone for a nuanced 60” voyage. Filmed aboard MSC’s Bellissima cruise ship, the ad flits between passengers and crew as they embrace a (temporary) life at sea.

This gives Douglas the chance to depict a captain’s pride, a water slide in full flow, and a late night dive in an emerald pool, among other things. Accompanied by Morricone’s yearning score, it convincingly suggests that a more exclusive brand of escapism is available through the advertised company.
