Ice cream of the crop.

by Andrew MacGregor

Lidl: “Berries” - 44s

So confident are Lidl in the quality of their berries, the brand subject them to a rigorous blind taste test under laboratory conditions. Well, out in the garden at least - and this 45" commercial starring blindfolded parents and their children is definitely one of the more freewheeling experiments we've seen in recent times.

Still, the brand are well versed in this sort of thing, and it remains an effective way of showing punters that it's OK to source fruit and veg from so-called budget supermarkets like Lidl. Not that the kids will be remotely fussed - arguably any bowl of berry ice cream's a good'un.
