Home For The Holidays

by Syd Briscoe

Lidl: “Believe” - 60s

Lidl encourage customers to ditch the idea of an idealised Christmas in this relatable holiday outing. Rather than storybook scenes of snowy landscapes and perfect families in matching jumpers, the brand embrace the season with all its quirks and foibles - dodgy Skype connections, selfish cake distribution, trunks full of booze, and more

It's a fitting, no-frills approach for the retailer, known as they are for providing a cheaper alternative. With lovely moments of humour throughout the film which many will recognise from their own gatherings (the deck chair at the dinner table is particularly effective), this is familiar yet confident work from a brand that fancies its chances this Christmas.
