Reanimating the parts other sodas cannot reach.

by Alice May

L&P: “Best Day Ever” - 60s

If you ever find yourself caught up in a zombie apocalypse, let's hope you're not in New Zealand. Because it transpires that kiwi fizzy drink brand L&P reanimates the parts other sodas cannot reach; breathing new life into the bodies of the undead. What's more, it infuses them with a cheeky sense of fun.

A few sips from an abandoned can inspire a couple of suppurating bros to make the most of their final days, and as Sheryl Crow's 'All I Wanna Do' starts playing, we watch them enjoying an improvised game of bowls, playing rock, paper, scissors and hanging out at the beach among other things.

We were vaguely disappointed no limbs sloughed off in the process and both heads stayed resolutely put, even when one of the zombies pokes the other in the ear. But that probably says more about us than the ad.

There's a cute joke at the end when a huddle of survivors stumble across the pair... is the game finally up? Is this when the zombies turn for real? Or are they more self aware than the living give them credit for?
