Out of the Doghouse

by Syd Briscoe

Just-Eat: “Snoop” - 60s

Snoop Dogg occupies a unique position in pop culture, simultaneously taken seriously as one of the founders of modern rap music and never taking himself too seriously. So, while other celebrity-fronted commercial songs may come across inevitably as cringey and try-hard, there's nothing to hate about Snoop rapping laconically about pizza.

Director François Rousselet’s accompanying film revisits some of the artist's most iconic music promos, flitting from sleek black and white to hip-hop opulence by turns. An entertaining endorsement from the Munchies King himself is also a welcome boost for the brand, as they bid to find a foothold against rivals like Uber Eats and Deliveroo.
