A refined breed.

by Andrew MacGregor

Jaguar: “Pampered Pooch” - 60s

This amusing Jaguar commercial introduces Max - a dog with a taste for the finer things in life, including napkins, medium-rare steaks, and, er, answering only to the name ‘Maximilian'.

While his dogship adopts a regal gait, Max's owner can't explain his Weimaraner's sudden personality change. Turns out the answer is parked outside.

Anchored by Max's haughty lead performance and a bemused human VO, the ad draws attention to the marque's range of pet-friendly add-ons, including ramps and even a portable shower. All well and good, though it may give certain mutts ideas above their station.
