One shot at glory.

by Andrew MacGregor

Hula Hoops: “Alley-oop” - 30s

Hula Hoops riff on eccentric trick shots in this fun commercial, which introduces the brand's new Flavarings variant. When a pool party attempts to execute a perfect alley-oop, online immortality seems all but assured… but not every participant has their eye on the ball.

Those familiar with the Hula Hoops oeuvre won't be surprised at the outcome, but what precedes it is impressive stuff. The eleven-pass movement is captured in a single take, which draws the viewer in until the moment of truth.

Though a more indignant reaction to the closing gag might have been welcome, it doesn't detract from another lively helping from the brand - one which raises the stakes whilst retaining the snack's USP.
