Dinner & Diatribes

by Syd Briscoe

Hozier: “Dinner & Diatribes” - 4 mins 27s

Noted forest spirit Hozier returns with another track from his latest album 'Wasteland, Baby!' - 'Dinner & Diatribes'. While the track itself talks of tumultuous love and longing, the promo is an altogether darker beast.

Directed by Anthony Byrne, the film presents a nightmarish face off - a young woman restrained at a rotting dinner table and unable to escape. Hozier himself appears with blackened teeth and a questionable moustache, cutting a strange, intriguing figure.

A gleeful exercise in aesthetics, the film includes elements of dance, surreal moments, and a fiery conclusion. Cryptic and extremely watchable, it may offer an insight into the artist's unique mind.
