A Last Hurrah

by Syd Briscoe

Guinness: “The Purse” - 90s

A mum bequeaths her sons a unique legacy in this touching ad for Guinness. Having been an avid rugby lover throughout her life, she instructs her boys to spend any money she has left in her purse on following the Six Nations... and, like any good sons, they do what mum says.

Shot in shades of film grain and national colours, the film follows the Rees brothers as they honour their mother's wishes and take her distinctive, red dragon-clad purse on their travels. Equal parts joyous and poignant, it emphasises the power of sport to bring people together - whether through triumph or tragedy.
