(Wo)Man's Best Friend

by Syd Briscoe

Fidelity: “The Big Day” - 60s

Financial service providers Fidelity offer a big day with a twist in this touching ad. A man takes his dog for a walk before his daughter's wedding, musing about how quickly time passes and hoping she won't forget him now she's reached the next stage in her life. Or so it seems...

We won't spoil the reveal, but it's smartly executed by director Kevin Thomas, who ensures the twist hides in plain sight throughout. With a well-judged balance of humour and poignancy, this film offers a satisfyingly fresh take on familiar material.
