Facebook: “Wish Bigger” - 60s
Facebook's reputation has been soiled in the last two years by their involvement in a number of political stories. At the very least, they've been highly complacent, and Mark Zuckerberg's refusal to answer urgent questions from the relevant authorities in a number of countries has not cast him or his company in a good light.
The social media giant has dealt with this crisis by issuing mealy mouthed mea culpas and creating cuddly feel good advertising like the featured piece by Academy's Novemba.
It's a creditable enough film but it's such a transparent attempt to offset the damage that Facebook's actions have inflicted on its reputation that it's hard to judge it outside this context. Indeed, it makes it impossible to view it without an appropriately unhealthy dose of cynicism.
