Pour All

by Syd Briscoe

Ecover: “L'Eau de Bebe” - 52s

Environmentally-friendly cleaning brand Ecover spoof the worst tropes of perfume ads in this spot-on commercial. Directed by Matias & Mathias, the film plays on the oft-remarked upon phenomenon of 'baby smell' and questions why one would want to cover it up with artificial scents.

From excessive use of broken French delivered in sultry whispers to inexplicable wind wafting the models' floaty garb around, it's a pitch-perfect parody of the most hackneyed kind of fragrance ad - which only adds humour to the final preposition. An understated nod to neutral pronouns also gives an added flare of sincerity to the work.
