Brave new world.

Dunkin' Donuts: “Voyage” - 60s

America was built on coffee and donuts, according to this 60" Dunkin' Donuts commercial helmed by Andreas Nilsson. Annoyingly referred to throughout as ‘Dunkin'', the chain present a slice of alternate history as a group of seafaring pilgrims salivate over their new home: a land of fresh brews and fried dough.

This intrepid spin on the company's origins may not chime with UK audiences (a market the brand has yet to fully penetrate), but the idea that America's caffeine and donut addiction goes back centuries is pleasing enough. Nice closing gag about the vagaries of fifteenth-century sea travel, too.
