Domino's Pizza: “JOMO” - 60s

Introverts rejoice: the fear of missing out is officially cancelled. At least, according to this entertaining ad for Domino's Pizza, who encourage people to have a little self-indulgent anti-social time and take part in JOMO - the joy of missing out.

While this has been a documented phenomenon for some time - likely fuelled by tight Millennial budgets, easily accessible home entertainment, and the ability to check whether a theatre performance is crap before you leave the house - it's rarely been presented in such a relatable way than here.

Director Bart Timmer captures the misery of a bad night out well, from stuffy dinner parties one feels socially obligated to grit their teeth through to Tinder dates who don't quite match their profile picture. Silent discos are sweaty, karaoke is awkward, and other people are, generally, awful - much better to order in and avoid human contact for as long as possible, really.
