Buzz off.

Direct Line: “Bumblebee” - 60s

Direct Line round off their cinematic trilogy with this CG-heavy slice of entertainment starring ‘Transformers’ staple Bumblebee - the world’s most kitted-out Volkswagen Beetle. This time, however, Decepticons are the least of his worries.

Like RoboCop and Donatello before him, Bumblebee is compelled to help a policyholder in need. Unfortunately for the black-and-yellow Autobot, it takes more than crashing through walls and assorted aerial gymnastics to beat DL to the scene.

Despite humiliation at the hands of an insurance film, the character is well-served by director Bryan Buckley’s fluid camerawork and full-throttle staging. Furthermore, William Brookwell and William Helm’s script ensures a distinctly British finale.
