Wiping away misery.

by Alice May

Dettol: “There's a Wipe For That” - 30s

A surprisingly sophisticated and wittily understated ad for Dettol Wipes features a montage of folk faced with moments of domestic despair.

From showers being cleaned with bras to unforgivably ignored pans, these relatable scenes are lovingly filmed and underscored with a plaintive soundtrack for added comic effect.

Between them the creatives at McCann and director Christopher Hill have elevated the usual depictions of domestic disharmony into something engaging and watchable. Don't they know that's against the rules in this sector of the market? More like this please.
