Celebrity Cruises: “Wonder Awaits” - 60s

While the traditional portrayal of cruise-goers has been that of older people who want some peace and quiet (mostly), Celebrity Cruises are shaking things up by attempting to appeal to a younger audience. They do so via an intriguingly psychedelic look at ship life, in which a passenger is plunged into an Alice in Wonderland-esque world.

With Jefferson Airplane's 'Go Ask Alice' as the soundtrack, this film not only targets a new demographic but brings an impressive amount of edge to proceedings. Whether exploring a giant sushi table or encountering trapeze artists in an indoor forest, it's clear that the activities on offer aren't limited to backgammon and shuffleboard.

Director Manu Cossu maintains a dreamlike tone throughout, which adds to the brand's luxurious feel. The fact the ship's captain is played by the US's real-life first female cruise ship captain is a nice - and equally fresh for the sector - cherry on top.
