BT: “New Flexible TV” - 60s

BT go for broke in this 60” commercial, which draws attention to their new flexible TV packages. Ably directed by Jeff Low, the ad depicts the emancipation of Rachel from her restrictive viewing plan through some good old-fashioned channel-hopping.

What follows is a breathless tour of Formula 1 circuits, sci-fi blockbusters, and children’s TV programmes, to name but a few. At the centre of it all is Rachel, who assumes her multiple identities (including a human-sized carrot) with relative cheer.

Of course, many others have embarked on similar journeys in this sector, which does produce a feeling of déjà vu. That said, there might be enough here to persuade subscribers to other big-name content providers to think again.
