Four-wheeled fable.

by Andrew MacGregor

BMW: “Legend” - 75s

Have you ever heard the tale of Ol' McLanden? No? Well, erm, that's because it's a yarn spun by BMW rather than some crusty raconteur. The narrator in this case is actor Chris Pine, and he has an outlandish story to tell.

What begins as a drive down smoky streets evolves into an impressive CG fable involving jackhammer-wielding giants, a post-apocalyptic motorbike gang, and even Poseidon in a hi-ves vest. Just another day in the life of an X7 owner… sort of.

Short of treating road workers and pedestrians as foes to be vanquished, the brand believe that drivers (and the driver here is female, which offers a nice trope subversion) should treat each journey as an odyssey… even it's just to grab some milk and a pack of loo roll. Now that's the true stuff of legends.
