Meet the Outrunners.

Asics: “Evoride” - 53s

“Getting tired just got harder” may sound like the perfect tagline for amphetamines, but it’s actually to promote a new line of running shoes from ASICS. Director Rogelio’s accompanying film goes for hell for leather-stroke-engineered mesh, as the supple cast literally shed their exhausted selves once they reach breaking point.

This is illustrated by doubles emerging from each runner’s body, with the non-ASICS wearers too knackered to continue. It's a neat metaphor brought to life by some deft VFX and a polyrhythmic percussion track, which should get viewers' toes tapping at any rate. The exact science behind the shoes, however, remains spotty at best.
