Like Nobody's Watching

by Syd Briscoe

Apple AirPods: “Snap” - 1 min 57s

This transformative commercial for Apple sees a woman's hectic walk through the city changed into something far more fantastical. Director Kim Gehrig plays with colour to great effect here, switching between neon and day-glo sequences of escapism and muted excursions into the everyday world when reality intrudes.

It's a lovely portrayal of how music can transport us to another place when things are stressful, as evidenced by the energetic, choreographed dream sequences which are in direct contrast to the hassled day-to-day. Slick, intricately-choreographed work which effectively explores how our inner and outer lives can co-exist - and how thin the barrier between them can be.
