Buttering Up Customers

by Alice May

Anchor Butter: “The Cafe” - 40s

Anchor celebrates another change in tone with this bouncy, effects-filled spot. Set in a traditional multicultural London café, it manages to visually convey ease of spreading, deliciousness, and the general feelgood factor that comes from a breakfast coated in butter.

We especially love the schoolgirl sat between her flamboyant mum and dad who gives a look of consternation to the camera - only for it to give way to a perfect little smile. It's beautifully cast and, like the Monsters before it, will appeal to a different audience than Lurpak's more intense campaign.
