Country matters.

Aldi: “Mustard” - 30s

This Aldi spot is shot with real love. Visually conveying the sense of old-fashioned values held dear, it reassures us they understand that quality can't be hurried. The bucolic atmosphere - with its timbered kitchen and gurgling gutters - suggests a time pre-GM, pre-intensive farming; a time where animals weren't pumped with antibiotics as a matter of course.

It's very seductive, and its authenticity makes it even more so. Meanwhile, small details like a cow keyring and an awkward exchange over French mustard (perish the thought!) add welcome levity to the mix. Plenty for punters to chew over ahead of roast dinner season.
