Nick Rutter joins My Accomplice.

by Andrew MacGregor

My Accomplice have signed UK-based director Nick Rutter to their roster for representation.

After attending film school in London, he broke into the film industry with a series of music documentaries - focusing on the Clash, the Sex Pistols, and Madness. This selection hints at Rutter's open-minded approach and ability to tell unusual stories in a way which feels relatable to any audience.

Rutter has since developed into an accomplished storyteller, as well as a canny operator in the commercial realm. A quick glance at his work reveals graphic-heavy outings for Tanqueray to atmospheric, documentary-style films for Google Maps.

That's not to say Rutter's passion for music ends with his biographical work. He's also directed promos for a wide range of artists, and shows an innate ability to marry sound and vision to the benefit of both.

For instance, a young car mechanic is seduced by a cool car in this video for Lapalux's release 'Puzzle'. Inspired by Stephen King's horror novel 'Christine', it follows the man's growing obsession with the vehicle which turns up flirtatiously under cover of night.

With a wealth of award nominations to his name and more dramatic fare in the pipeline, Rutter intends to bolster his commercial reel with the help of his new associates at My Accomplice.
