Mathieu Caplanne makes the grade at ETC.

by Andrew MacGregor

Electric Theatre Collective have bolstered their ranks by signing French colourist Mathieu Caplanne. Caplanne joins Jason Wallis and Lewis Crossfield on the colour roster. As ETC eye further expansion, the trio will spearhead the studio’s grading department.

The Frenchman brings plenty of industry experience, as well as an accomplished showreel. For instance, Caplanne enhanced this Nike film’s vivid palette.

As well as high-profile TVCs, Caplanne has established himself via promos and short films. Working on a mix of short and longform projects keeps Caplanne sharp.

It’s in our DNA to hire the most talented people possible and we feel we have done this yet again with Mathieu joining our team.

Speaking of which, he recently worked with directing collective CANADA on this Beck promo. Caplanne’s grade ensures we’re immersed in this bacchanalian rescue mission.

Such work caught Founder and Executive Producer Lee Pavey’s eye: “It’s in our DNA to hire the most talented people possible and we feel we have done this yet again with Mathieu joining our team… we can’t wait to make magic together.”
