New signing Daniel Skoglund brings a “slick visual universe” to the table, according to Darling Films. The Stockholm-based director also brings a hefty showreel with him, having worked on commercials, music videos, title sequences, and short films over the years.
In 2018, for example, Skoglund teamed up with dancers from the Royal Swedish Opera for this elegant spin on hard-court tennis. Despite the lack of balls, racquets or Hawk-Eye, Skoglund delivers a riveting piece of content for tennis fans and operagoers alike.
This subversive streak continues with Skoglund’s satirical fashion film ‘Crap Diem Couture Week’, which mocks the cancellation of Stockholm Fashion Week 2019 due to sustainability reasons. Together with stylist Christopher Insulander, Skoglund offers a stark and strikingly modern alternative.
Such work leads Darling Films HQ to say: “We’re excited to welcome Daniel and his slick visual universe to Darling Films. His beautiful craftsmanship and distinctive style is what struck us immediately.
“He also has the ability to transcend multiple genres having shot stunning campaigns for the fashion, beauty, car, and beverage sectors, each with their own unique visual narrative.”
